What should be the main topic of this update?
I'm cracking my small brain to think of it.
The class outing I had yesterday?
Sin Ying had already done a full coverage on it so I won't touch on that.

Ok, here comes.


Is it alright to splurge?
What is splurging?
Throwing tonnes and tonnes of hard-earned money away for some useless and unneccessay things?
Or is it a way to satisfy your own needs?
Is it a crime?
Or an unforgivable sin?


I find that many people, including me had been spending lots of money.
Especially when we go for shopping sprees.
Many people, particularly the girls would attest to it.
It is extremely difficult for us to not fork out the money for things that we LIKE.
You may be asking are we spending money for the sake of spending or are we getting the things that we REALLY need.
Well, I can say that we have no idea sometimes.
At instances, we can be so implusive that we buy the design and the brand but not for the practicality of it.
As humans, who doesn't wish to own things that will look good or beautify yourself.
It's natural, a part and parcel of life.


There are some people who can forsake and sacrifice their allowance just to save up and get the things they wanted.
Some can rather go hungry on their stomachs just to have the money to buy their wants.
I'm not an exception.
You may say that we are foolish and stupid.
But believe me, we think otherwise.
Moreover, we are not born with a silver spoon.


Who doesn't spend money?
It's only a matter of the type and the kind of wants that different people of different age, race and interests go after.
Some are crazy over clothes.
Some are crazy over comics and toys.
Some are crazy over cars and condos.
Some are crazy over antiques.
Some are crazy over jewelleries.
And the list goes on and on and on...
Never ending.
Perpetuating.
I'm just generalising.
I'm not picking on another one in particular :)


I used to spend very little when I was young (not that I'm very old now).
A mere $10 can settle everything in an outing.
But as time goes by, as we get older, the stuffs we shop got more expensive.
Till then, $10 will not be enough.
Not enough to eat two nice meals.
We will start lamenting why we do not have enough money.
Being still financially dependent, we will ask more money from our parents.
And our parents will start to whine and lecture you on money-spending.
Is this process part of growing up and maturing?
Or is it just an excuse for you to spend MORE money?
I'm not sure.


Why are we always not satisfied with the current things we own?
Must we always buy new things to replace the old ones?
A viscous cycle?
Ah.
I don't know.
Guess I'm too simple-mind to know.
